We are pleased to announce that the WHC has awarded $2.4 million in Community Impact Grants to 27 organizations serving Marion and Polk counties. Selected from over 100 applicants, the funded projects will begin in 2026 and address one or more of the 2026-2030 regional Community Health Improvement Plan’s three impact areas:
- Access to Healthcare
- Mental Health & Substance Use
- Housing Stability
The grant process was shaped and led by WHC’s community committees, which are made up of regional Oregon Health Plan (OHP) members as well as those with professional and lived experience across health and social services. These committees played a central role in identifying priority criteria, shaping evaluation measures, reviewing applications, and making final recommendations – ensuring that community voice and local context informed every step.
This year’s grantees include a diverse mix of organizations across the region, with several trends emerging:
- Roughly one-third are first-time recipients of a Community Impact Grant
- Many are located in or serve rural communities in Marion and Polk counties
- A majority address multiple impact areas, underscoring the intersection of healthcare, housing, and mental well-being
WHC will convene all grantees in mid-2026 for the annual All Grantee Convening, providing space to share progress, learn from one another, and strengthen regional collaboration.
