Community Benefit Initiatives (CBI) are evidence-based, community-level interventions that are focused on improving population health and healthcare quality. Through the CBI Grant Program, we award community grants for selected projects that meet pertinent Health Related Services requirements established by the Oregon Health Authority. For example, CBI investments must:

CBI funds cannot be used for Oregon Health Plan/Medicaid-covered services or capital investments. 

The CBI Grant Program is overseen by the Community Advisory Council, which is made up of Oregon Health Plan members and a diverse mix of community stakeholders. 

The CBI Grant Program typically accepts applications for funding once a year. There are no specific award limits, however, this grant program generally has about $1.3 million available annually.
